Safe Streets Task Force Bank Robbery Independent Bank 450 Perkins Extended Memphis, TN
On Thursday, January 15, 2009, Independent Bank, located at 450 Perkins Extended, was robbed by two suspects. The suspects entered the bank, passed notes to the tellers, and demanded money. After receiving the money from the tellers, the suspects left on foot and walked south on Perkins Extended, where they entered a maroon SUV and drove southbound on Perkins Extended and then westbound on Poplar Avenue.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years of age, 5’7-5’10, heavy build, black eyes, black, very low cut hair, wearing a purple striped button up shirt, black pants, and a white jacket with olive green lining.
The second suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, 25-35 years of age, 5’6”-5’8”, medium build, dark eyes, short black hair, wearing a black leather jacket with a hoodie underneath, light blue jeans, and black shoes.

This case is being investigated by the Safe Streets Task Force which is a multi agency unit which is comprised of Memphis Police Officers, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies and Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
